showing some love corner
About 7yrs and I'm still floored. Not only is Tod one of the most amazing photographers I know, but he is also one of the most selfless and kind individuals I have had the pleasure of being friends with. No really. One of the few people that will let me ask a million questions (ones I'm positive he gets on the regular), and still answers each one in depth and with a sparkle in his eye. This guy lives like every day is the first day of summer. They just don't make them like this anymore.

woodward way gang
so sick. throat is drier than a pair of my suede riding chaps that have been up in the attic for 5yrs with moth balls--- dry.
my bro is slowly inching in to being apart of this blog-o-rhythm. Here is his first contribution, other than an after thought comment:
I love this video - reminds me of riding around buckhead when I was 11-13 on
my hutch trickstar freestyle bike ...

on the fence
I saw this Blonde Redhead video about 2 months ago on the RVCA ANP blog. A quintessential Mike Mills piece, utterly simple and a bit heartbreaking. I appreciate the gesture this video makes, like the first time that boy you really really like slips his fingers through yours to hold your hand, and for a split second it's pure electric magic.
So, the reason I'm on the fence with this video even after the aforementioned prepubescent first love reminiscence... I feel as if I've been taken or it's a hoax. It's toooo simple, it's too heartbreaking, it's too contrived of an emotion. Much like lying on your back hanging off your bed when you call in sick to work, so that you sound more sick/throaty. Plus, I've had a hard time deciphering if it's real or cgi. Any takers out there for validating it's authenticity both in emotion an/or digital effects?

bizarre in multiple b's
showing some love corner
I've known Niles for about 5 yrs, maybe even more. Met him one chilly March afternoon at Michigan fest. He drove all the way up from Bama in his lil Honda and the moment we met it was like I had met a new girlfriend... or something . Niles is one of the sweetest most caring individuals AND talented as hell!
So I thought I would do a little wrap up of bands that he's been in; because I feel the world needs to enjoy the musical love that spews forth from this Portland tiger.
First up is Gianculli (currently on hiatus)-- he and a coworker decided to venture into the Hall and Oates, Michael Mcdonald majestic cave of auditory back rubs. Have a listen and be prepared to have your shoulders relax and your butt melt:

The next jawn that he currently has on lock down is NOEL. He and his roommate Joel decided to start a rap duo that is nothing short of brilliant. I believe it all came about because of a stray cat that came around their house, so they decided to raise funds for medicine by rappin' to help save the kitty. After that, the hits just wrote themselves:

ohhh that feeling
Finally decided to just do this. Been putting it off and putting it off and now I'm going to stop fighting. Not sure how often I will spew forth my witty, trite yet entertaining musings but that's the fun part - the mystery of what's she gonna say? What's she going to do?! So I will start with the things that I receive from friends, family and then things that I find on my own (which beats out the others 20 fold). Bro sent this to me today:
Let me comment more on the editing than on the music itself. The cuts are liken to that kind of wacky trip/flash back a forty year old who did too many mushrooms in his college dorm would have, whilst currently sitting in his office cubicle. In other words I love it. Whenever an editor can effectively splice the song with the action (seamlessly mind you), that to me is syncopation at its finest.
